Join us on a journey through the history of one of the most prestigious scientific journals, as we celebrate 150 years of Nature. First issue on display.
On November 4th 1869, the first issue of Nature came out. We are celebrating 150 years of history with a lecture by the Editor-in-Chief, Magdalena Skipper, entitled "150 years of life-changing research – lessons from Nature, The International Journal of Science".
Prior to the lecture, Dr. Roberto Lalli, research scholar at the Max-Planck-Institute for the History of Science, will give an overview about the editorial practices in scientific publishing from the 19th century to the present.
The event is open to the public, who will have the opportunity to see on display the very first issue of Nature and a collection of historical papers published in the journal. A networking reception will conclude the event.
