Not every plant found in the wild is safe for consumption. Many species closely resemble highly toxic doublegangers, and several plants previously assumed to be harmless are now recognized for posing serious health risks, such as carcinogenicity or organ damage. Guided by experienced instructors, participants learn to accurately identify edible wild herbs, steer clear of dangerous lookalikes, and gain a deeper understanding of local ecology and botanical history.
These three-hour guided excursions take place at accessible green spaces across Berlin and the surrounding countryside, all conveniently connected to the public transport network. The English-language sessions are conducted in Grunewald. To help reinforce what was learned during the walk, attendees receive digital access to comprehensive plant profiles following the event.
