The Späth Arboretum is a delightful, peaceful garden. Created in the 1870s by botanist Franz Späth, it is now managed by Humboldt University's Institute for Special Botany. The mature garden has an impressive collection of tree species from the northern hemisphere and hundreds of herbaceous plants. It is home to several bird species.
Königsheide is a 110-hectare fragment of a once extensive natural forest. The mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees provides a habitat for many species of flora and fauna.
It's a 2-kilometre walk through the forest to Südostallee and a further 500 metres to S-Bahnhof Schöneweide.
