In a world where personal stories are often lost in media noise, embroidery offers a tangible and visual medium to narrate unique experiences. This experience responds to the need to create safe spaces for dialogue and cultural exchange, especially for communities facing social challenges.
Like a red thread weaving through worlds, embroidery can strengthen social bonds and provide a sense of belonging and mutual support.
It doesn't matter whether with words, colors, shapes, symbols, or anything else, we connect stories and embroider resistance together.

I am Teresa Gualtieri, a contemporary urban artisan, mother and migrant. In my studio-workshop project MUTA I bring together traditional practices with urban life. I come from an old Italian artisan family and believe that fabrics carry energy, tell stories and can be given a new life through artisanal upcycling. Mutare, which means transformation and change, is therefore the basis for my almost 20 years of practice in craft and art education projects that focus on sustainability and an integral, inclusive, diverse understanding of our living environments. I want to give back a worthy existence to what is thrown away, what remains unnoticed.
The workshop is open, just come by and join.
